A Swedish research company, Angstom Laboratory, recently developed a new ceramic material, used to replace broken or missing teeth, that’s three times stronger than current ceramic materials – with realistic translucency. Ceramic teeth materials usually offer either strength, without translucency or translucency without strength. This new ceramic offers both durability and translucency, and the ability to exactly match the patient’s teeth. The upside: strong, natural looking replacement of teeth (especially for implants.) Patients can also expect to save money in the long run because the replacement teeth material lasts longer, so they don’t have to visit the dentist to replace it as often.
