Newly developed reversible dental cement will make both the Dentist and Orthodontist’s job much easier. Imagine cement that gets activated and hardens instantly with a special light. Next, this cement can then be un-stuck with a 10 to 20 second shine from a special diode laser. What’s more, only the cement gets affected by the diode laser. The cement is also easily removed from all surfaces, without damage. Orthodontists, for example can use this new cement to attach treatment contact brackets. Then when the braces treatment is finished, the contact bracket can be removed quickly and easily, along with any cement left on the teeth. Currently, the brackets are typically pinched off the teeth and the remaining cement polished off. So this new cement could save patient’s time in the chair and make cement removal easier and faster. Other Orthodontic uses include contact retainers, molar bands and anywhere quick attachment and quick removal of a dental appliance is beneficial.
